Our Story
Tucked away in the heart of London, Yokoya invites you into a world where Japanese tradition is honoured with every course. The restaurant is Chef Makoto Kuwaki's passion project. Growing up in Japan he started training as a Kaiseki Master Chef from the age of 18. Kaiseki is the ultimate form of authentic Japanese dining and is often referred to as a hyper-seasonal culinary experience. Under the masterful eye of Chef Makoto Kuwaki the multi-course menu is updated monthly and each dish reflects a lifetime of discipline, cultural devotion, and culinary artistry. Dining is never rushed, but revered. Yokoya offers more than a meal—it offers a true taste of Japan, crafted with precision, soul, and story. Thanks to his skill and focus on tradition he has had the honour to serve both the Japanese Emperor and Empress as well as many Japanese Prime Ministers.
