Terms & Conditions

Prepayment & Charges
  • A full prepayment is required at the time of booking for each guest's Kaiseki meal.

  • This prepayment covers the food only. Drinks and a 15% service charge are not included and will be charged separately on the day of your visit.

Booking Amendments & Cancellations
  • Cancellations made 24 hours (Izakaya) or 72 hours (Kaiseki) or more before your reservation are eligible for a refund minus a 3% booking fee for any pre-payments or deposits (non-refundable).

  • For any questions around bookings, please contact us by email at reservations@kaisekiyokoya.co.uk

  • Reductions in party size are subject to the same 3% per person booking fee.

We’ve proudly served guests for over 10 years, offering a truly Japanese hospitality experience—Omotenashi. If you are unable to attend your booking with less than 24/72 hours' notice, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to reschedule your meal or apply the credit to a future Kaiseki experience, but refunds cannot be guaranteed.

Booking Notice & Meal Preparation
  • Same-day bookings are not accepted for Kaiseki meals.
Our preparation begins as soon as you book, using seasonal, hand-selected ingredients from trusted suppliers. This approach ensures freshness and respects both our culinary traditions and the many people who support our craft.

Food Allergies & Intolerances
  • We do not cater to dietary restrictions or food allergies as a rule.

  • Requests such as gluten-free, shellfish-free, vegetarian, or raw fish-free cannot be accommodated due to the integral nature of these ingredients in Kaiseki cuisine and the risk of cross-contamination.

  • Please contact us in advance to discuss any concerns—we will try our best to advise, but we cannot guarantee accommodation.

Dining Experience
  • We accept 2 to 6 guests per Kaiseki reservation (one party).
For solo diners or parties over 6, please contact us directly by email.

  • Seating is limited to ensure a personal and relaxed experience—typically 6 to 8 guests during operating hours.

  • Estimated dining durations:

    • 10-course Kaiseki: approx. 3 hours

    • 8-course Short Kaiseki: approx. 2.5 hours

  • We serve each party individually. Your meal will not be rushed or synchronized with other guests.
Please feel free to enjoy your Kaiseki experience at a comfortable pace—just like dining in a friend’s living room.

  • Please note:

    • We do not have a children’s menu.

    • Chef Makoto does not cook in front of guests. Yokoya is a Kaiseki restaurant, not a sushi omakase or kappo-style venue—this style is traditional in Japan.
